It does lighten after 2-3 weeks but it does not turn red. Leaving the Revlon color on for only the recommended 35 minutes for stubborn greys works wonderfully. Since I leave it on longer the color is closer to light ash brown but that is what I am going for.
My hair is not real long or thick but this bottle was not big enough to cover all my hair. I added some water to my hair and lathered it up like shampoo, and let it sit another minute or two before rinsing. The application process was really easy and simple, the steps were explicit and everything was labeled clearly. I would not recommend this product if you are going for the reddish violet color. The top of my head is dark red and the bottom barely has any red tones.

You need to let the part of your hair that is seen the most sit for the entire time. I apply to the top of my hair, brushing it in and then I clip that section off. I work in sections, top, sides and back and then let the dye work for 40 minutes from when I finish applying- cover it with a disposable cap so I don’t drip dye everywhere.
It’s not getting 5 stars from me though because for a take home product, there just isn’t enough information or instructions to help guide people to pick the right toner for their warmth or level. I’ve made many concessions during the pandemic — safety first! Too depressing to let the gray grow in, so I’ve been coloring myself, generally with L’Oreal. Only down side to this brand is the small amount of conditioner it comes with. If you have long thick hair it may not be enough. Wish they had this years ago when I first started dying my hair because it sure would have saved me a lot of time and money trying to maintain my color.

Washed my hair once since dying and most of the color came out. Waste of money and damaged my hair for nothing!. I have shoulder length hair & used all of the bleach just on my roots. I definitely recommend this bleach to people who want a decent bleach for cheap. The shampoo suds up very well & there’s alot of it in the packet enough for maybe two uses but I used it all at one time.

I have now been forced to try other brands to try to duplicate the look of 7R, but to no avail.
You might only need 5 minutes or you might want 15. I used a mix if T18, T27, and the cooling violet 050 on freshly bleached level 8-9ish hair and it toned beautifully. I’ll start by saying I think the product did what it promised to do, which is tone hair and neutralise warmth from bleaching. I later switched to using the permanent gel with a low developer as I found it easier to apply to roots only and the colour lasts longer. But if an all-over quick toning job is what your after, this is it.
Don’t be scared to add a little extra dye to ensure you’ve really covered it! If you’re working solo, this is where the hand mirror you used while sectioning your hair will come in handy. Before you start loading the hair dye on, it’s time to section your hair.
On the other hand, if you’re colouring your hair for the first time or looking for an all-over hue, now it's time to focus on colouring the rest of your mane. If you’ve stayed within ourrecommended limitsof at-home hair colour, you should never end up with a final look that’s too drastic or unexpected. But if you strayed and you’re feeling a little mournful, try washing immediately with clarifying shampoo. It will soften the look, but it won’t reverse hair dye completely.
1) Purchase a hair color which you think will suit your personality. Make sure that you are buying a genuine product. To get best results and make it easy, you should buy a professional kit which has both color and developer. You should keep a bottle with you along with clean gloves. L’oreal color is available in both creme and liquid form.
