The World’s Largest Bounce House stands 32 feet tall at its highest point and features slides, ball pits, climbing towers and basketball hoops on top of over-sized characters of various colors, shapes and sizes. This amazing addition to our event brings a whole new dimension to an already action packed day out. We’ve built a customized sports arena filled with goals, nets, hoops and balls of every size and type you could imagine!

The trend for adult active play

Balancing on the squishy surface can be a bit tricky — it's easier to bounce across it than walk. The obstacle course is fairly long and requires enough climbing, ducking and crawling, so be prepared for a legitimate workout. (There are several food trucks.) And if it's rained recently, bring a spare pair of socks, because a little water can puddle in low spots.

It took six months to create the bouncy castle, including planning, design work and the careful selection of materials to ensure both safety measures and that the record-breaking dimensions were met. The bounce house is shaped like a castle on the outside and features an open square layout on the inside with different sections of activities. It will suit toddlers, juniors, bigger kids, and there will also be an adult only session. And don't worry—staff will sanitize all surfaces between each session and every inflatable attraction is deep cleaned between events. There will be hand sanitization stations throughout the site. “Alongside the attractions, we’ve got food shops and themed shelters.

This bounce house has something for everyone including basketball hoops, giant towers, a ball-pit, live DJs, confetti blasts, bubbles, dancing, and even competitions. Medics are onsite at all times and are often kept busy, tending to dehydrated adults and many twisted ankles. Assistant tour manager Billy Jamison recommends attendees stretch before jumping and stay hydrated (you’re allowed to bring in your own food and water, and fair food is available for purchase). Initially, in 2017, the bouncy castle was the main event. We had local food trucks and vendors and a few local companies doing some brand activity around it.

Each ticketed session (starting at $17) is one hour long. I think adults wanting to be able to behave and play like children is something that’s always been there. It is simply that there is an increasing number of operators that are providing that kind of entertainment now. “The design is something we’ve never seen with inflatables before.

It's an action-packed event that is suitable for all ages and features some of the most unique and exciting custom-built inflatable attractions ever made. The park has four bouncy attractions — including a sports complex and a space-themed zone — that together cost roughly $1 million. An all-access ticket includes a three-hour pass to the event with a time session on The World’s Largest Bounce House, as well as the three other inflatable attractions. “airSPACE” features a 5-lane slide, three ball pits and a maze. At the center of the attraction, which is traveling to dozens of cities across the country this year, is the 16,000 square foot bounce house which is the only Guinness-certified world record holder for one that size. It’s not just our size—it’s the boundless energy and enthusiasm we infuse into every corner of Jumbo Jump!

There’s also specials zones for climbing and a ‘battle zone’ where you can compete against your family and friends in a competition to see who can stay on their podium the longest. The Guniness certified World's Largest Bounce House is 32 ft. tall and covers an area of 16,000 sq. The house is filled with "giant ball pits, climbing towers, basketball hoops, as well as a DJ, competitions and more, according to a press release. Last Saturday morning, after about two days of setup, Aquila Park (3110 Xylon Av. S.) looked like a blow-up theme park, full of puffy climbing towers, giant slides, ball pits and more. DJs, confetti and other props added to the festive atmosphere. The highlight is “The Castle,” a custom-designed, world-record-holding bounce house that contains a ball pit, donut-topped climbing towers, tulips with soulless smiling faces, and a DJ pit.

“We were providing themed events and brands from headphone disco to roller raves. We would take these to colleges and universities across the United States. They would book us to come, pay us a fee and we would show up and put on an event on college grounds. "You can expect over 16,000 square feet of jumping - that's a lot," explained tour manager Michael Wiggins. "Because of our background in entertainment, instead of just having a standard bounce house, we thought, 'Let's put (in) a basketball court and a ball pit,'" he said.

A "customized sports arena filled with goals, nets, hoops and balls of every size," a press release says. According to the release, there's also a "battle zone" where you can compete against your family and friends to see who can stay on their podium the longest. “Sport Slam” features a customized sports arena filled with goals, nets, hoops and balls of every size and type. The bounce house is so big, you could even call it a bounce neighborhood. Altogether, over 100 air blowers, plugged into five diesel power generators, keep the park inflated.

It is challenging enough for adults, but with alternative routes for kids. Some of the more difficult obstacles have tunnels or easier options. Ticket prices vary per city, but are usually $16 for toddlers, $24 for kids 7 and under, $24 for kids 15 and under, and $28 for anyone over 16 years old.

A few years ago, the Furgesons took it upon themselves to design the largest jumpable monstrosity they could. This year, with the help of a factory in Cleveland, they were finally able to build it. With a 900-foot inflatable obstacle course, ball pits, mazes, climbing walls, and even a DJ area with a dance floor to keep the party going, this bouncy house even better than one you could've dreamed up as a kid. There’s an obstacle course, where you can compete against your friends, and a basketball court, where you can get some major air. You can slide down the giant slide into the ball pit or just jump around with the inflatable beach balls. “Before we launched as a touring family event, most of our work in the US was based on college entertainment,” says Craig.

We’ve got specific custom colours, so we had to get specific material made from these colours. “In 2018 we developed a smaller entertainment brand, the Bounce Village. It also had a mini bouncer for smaller kids, a slide, and a couple of other things. Four massive inflatables are set up at the Navy Yard, packed with slides, climbs, and plenty of jumping. That impressive "Guinness-certified" billing was granted to The Big Bounce America, a touring attraction featuring four fantastically huge-normous inflatables, each with its own lively look and zazzy theme.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial U S. National Park Service

mount rushmore original design

One of my favorite ceremonies was during a touching moment after the lighting where the national park ranger invites all active and retired military onto the stage to commemorate their sacrifice for their country. It’s a fitting venue since the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is probably one of the most patriotic monuments in America. The Chief Carver of the mountain was Luigi del Bianco, artisan and headstone carver in Port Chester, New York. Del Bianco emigrated to the U.S. from Friuli in Italy, and was chosen to work on this project because of his understanding of sculptural language and ability to imbue emotion in the carved portraits.

When Was Mt Rushmore Built

Hitchcock had to promise Cary Grant and other actors wouldn’t run across the tops of the presidents’ heads. This not-so-secret room isn’t open to the public but has been the subject of much speculation and was even depicted in the National Treasure fictional historical conspiracy movies. Over the next 16 years, Borglum wrangled with the federal government about funding and control of Mount Rushmore—which he never technically completed. An aerial view of Mount Rushmore taken in 1967 shows the four presidential faces, the surrounding Black Hills, and its jumbo parking lot. Both the parking lot and the parking garage which replaced it in the 1990s drew criticism for the clearing of land required to build them; the current $5 fee to park in the garage isn’t popular with tourists either.

Related: the other side of iconic monuments

Had it not been for a band of impenetrable mica schist lower in the mountain, and time restraints, Borglum and his crew of carvers would have hewn down to the presidents’ waists. The wide-eyed sculptor had also envisioned an entablature 120 feet high and 80 feet wide, in the shape of the Louisiana Purchase, to the right of the presidents, on which a brief history of the United States would be etched. He even launched a contest, calling for Americans to submit inscriptions.

A controversial sculptor

Inside, the walls would be carved with depictions of pivotal moments in US history. It would also house the original declaration of independence, the constitution, and more. It would even include smaller busts of famous Americans and a list of U.S. contributions to the world.

Over the 14 years spent constructing the memorial, funding was always an issue. In the end, the project cost nearly $1 million, about 85 percent of which came, according to Bracewell, from federal funds. The sculptor chose Mount Rushmore in part because it faces southeast for maximum sun exposure. The carving was the idea of Doane Robinson, a historian for the state of South Dakota.

While Mount Rushmore is revered by some Americans, it may also be viewed with contempt by Native Americans. Mount Rushmore has a reputation for being a sacred site for some Americans, but it has a stinging legacy for Native Americans. Mount Rushmore’s interpretation of U.S. history ignored that Roosevelt, for example, oversaw the dismantling of Indian Territory in Oklahoma, while Washington and Jefferson owned enslaved Africans. As Sprague points out, even Lincoln was enthusiastic about western expansion and, in 1862, dispatched U.S. troops to Minnesota to put down a Dakota uprising. Mount Rushmore opened to the public even as the Lakota continued legal challenges. In the decades since, the memorial and its surroundings have served as a flash point for the treatment of Native Americans.

Funding problems made the project take longer than was originally expected. Back in this country, Borglum led a life marked by artistic success, public service, and occasional controversy. His Mares of Diomedes was accepted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. He did a large equestrian bronze of General Phil Sheridan which Theodore Roosevelt unveiled in Washington. He also created a memorial to Pickett's Charge on the Gettysburg Battlefield. For Newark, New Jersey, he created the Wars of America memorial and the Seated Lincoln.

The 1980 United States Supreme Court decision United States v. Sioux Nation of Indians ruled that the Sioux had not received just compensation for their land in the Black Hills, which includes Mount Rushmore. In 1998 the massive face of the chief was finished, but it’s still a long way from completion. One unusual fact about this nearly 1-billion-dollar project is that it suffered no casualties. A very rare occurrence for a job of this size and this time in US history. The original design for one of America’s most recognized monuments was very different from its finished product.

mount rushmore original design

The Mount Rushmore sculpture ensemble quickly became one of the United States’ great iconic images. The memorial is now among the most heavily visited NPS properties and is one of the top tourist attractions in the country. Over the years, components of the site’s infrastructure, such as accessibility and visitor facilities and services, have been improved and expanded to accommodate the two million or more people who go there annually.

There are 422 stairs to climb so be prepared -the trail is not wheelchair accessible. After a day exploring town, our Mount Rushmore visit started off with an evening tour. Arriving a couple of hours before sunset, we had the chance to explore the grounds, walk the avenue of flags, visit the the museum and learn about the monument before watching the lighting ceremony. Peter Norbeck, the US Senator from South Dakota, sponsored the project and secured federal funding.

The Treaty of Fort Laramie, hashed out between the United States and the Lakota in 1868, declared the Black Hills to be Lakota land. But, in the 1870s, at the behest of President Ulysses S. Grant, a small army led by Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer occupied the region. Gold was struck, and a rush of panhandlers began to illegally settle the area. The Great Sioux War erupted in 1876, and by 1877, an act of Congress forced the defeated Lakota to surrender their land. “Tourists soon get fed up on scenery unless it has something of special interest connected with it to make it impressive,” he said.

As the U.S. continues to reckon with the Confederate statues and other monuments to its racist past, some tribal leaders and their supporters have called for the removal of the memorial. Forces began campaigning to add faces to Mount Rushmore while the monument was still under construction. First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt supported an unsuccessful 1936 proposal to put women’s rights activist Susan B. Anthony on the rock. The idea that the memorial could somehow evolve would live on, with political partisans over the years suggesting adding John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. More recently, Trump has repeatedly crowed that he should be on the list. Although the loss of the land was a far bigger concern for many Lakota, Cheyenne, and Arapaho, Hill says that some indigenous people wanted the site to recognize their history, too.

TW Recreational Services, a national company with concessioncontracts at a number of national parks, outbid Mountain Co. forthe Mount Rushmore contract in 1992. On Jan. 1, 1993, TW took overconcession operations at the Shrine of Democracy. One can only imagine how it would feel to have the people who took your land (after a Treaty had already been settled upon) and have them celebrate those who killed so many Native Americans on your sacred territory. This trail is just a little over a half mile long 1km and is an easy paved loop that takes you to the base of Mount Rushmore.

In 1938, Borglum began blasting a 70-foot tunnel into the mountain for his Hall of Records. Worried about funding as war loomed in Europe, however, the U.S. government ultimately instructed Borglum to hold off on the hall until the four faces had been completed. In 1923, Doane Robinson, the State Historian of South Dakota, read of the Stone Mountain venture and wrote to Borglum about the possibility of doing a mountain carving in the Black Hills. Borglum came to South Dakota in 1924 at the age of 57 and agreed in principle to do the project.

The pasta, made in house, featured garganelli tossed with broccoli rabe and the same fennel sausage used on the pizza next door. It was well-executed, but I’d much rather eat that sausage on Stella Barra’s crust. For desserts, you can pluck something from the bakery case and have it topped with ice cream, but we loved the light-as-air pineapple sorbet.

$5M renovation of Buffalo Grove High School…

That’s because the beauty of Summer House is only skin deep. Sure, the space is stunning and unlike anywhere else in Chicago, and sure, the servers look really cool with their colorful checked shirts, but dish after dish is merely okay. A salad of market greens and herbs was barely dressed, while a Hamachi tartare with avocado and green apple was appealing texturally, but didn’t have any zip. Grilled salmon, served with roasted fennel and arugula pesto, was overcooked.

Take in the bright and airy scenery at Summer House—now even bigger and better. The newly expanded venue will transport guests to a California-style paradise. The full restaurant buyout includes comfortable booths, full bar seating throughout the restaurant, and two main dining rooms. The space is perfect for wedding receptions, corporate gatherings, and large-form events looking for a West Coast oasis. Plus, the menu also has a nice smattering of seafood, pastas, pizzas, and proteins. It’s a little bit unfocused (rarely can you order meatballs, salmon sashimi, and crispy fish tacos within the same meal), but overall, the food is good.

We hit the bakery case for an excellent chewy oatmeal cookie studded with dried apples. We reopened our tab and ordered the Sicilian Highball, made with Cynar, Averna, ginger beer and lemon—basically a deeper, bitter, more delicious Moscow Mule. Then the bartender appeared with an orphaned sausage pizza, and asked if we wanted it. With help from the friendly group next to us, we demolished the pizza, which turned out to be the best thing we ate all night (the cookie took second place).

The Joffrey deserves credit for taking a risk on “Midsummer” six years ago and for showing enough belief in it to bring it back for new round of audiences to discover. Despite its familiar-seeming title, this piece has no connection with Shakespeare. Instead, Ekman goes in his own distinctive direction, paying homage to the summer solstice and the centuries-old Scandinavian Midsummer holiday.

Join us on Saturday, April 13 for this bottomless celebration of all things brunch and rosé. The cocktail list is also less appealing than next door, and the Sonoma Coast, a pisco and pineapple concoction, proved to be one note and dull. But the wine list is solid and stocked with mostly California wines worth ordering, like the rich and fruity Frog’s Leap cabernet.

District officials also expect the project will improve band practice times and spectator experience. The music is performed by an onstage ensemble, including four string players from the Lyric Opera Orchestra. Spread across the entire stage, dancers are reveling in a sea of hay (turns out it’s actually haylike raffia), throwing and waving clumps of the golden strands. The renovation would also have an academic impact, allowing student-athletes to finish practices sooner than later. Currently, due to limited facilities, BGHS they are practicing until as late as 10 p.m., officials noted. Once the new athletic facilities are complete, freshman and sophomore level-teams will be able to practice immediately after the school day ends and be done in time to take the activity bus home. The district and high school hosted two community open house events earlier this year to discuss plans and showcase designs for athletic field renovations across three phases slated over the next few years. The $5 million project will be funded through SD214 capital funds, according to district spokesman David Beery.

List of C-family programming languages Wikipedia

c# singleton design pattern

C functions are akin to the subroutines of Fortran or the procedures of Pascal. When return is followed by an expression, the value is returned to the caller as the value of the function. Encountering the end of the function is equivalent to a return with no expression. In that case, if the function is declared as returning a value and the caller tries to use the returned value, the result is undefined.

thoughts on “The Basics And Pitfalls Of Pointers In C”

Also, contemporary major compilers GCC and LLVM both feature an intermediate representation that is not C, and those compilers support front ends for many languages including C. C is often used in low-level systems programming where escapes from the type system may be necessary. Since C99, the programmer can specify that a function takes an array of a certain size by using the keyword static.

Jump statements

The expression array2d[4] is an array, which we are then subscripting with [3] to access the fourth integer. C has also been widely used to implement end-user applications.[53] However, such applications can also be written in newer, higher-level languages. The "hello, world" example, which appeared in the first edition of K&R, has become the model for an introductory program in most programming textbooks. The program prints "hello, world" to the standard output, which is usually a terminal or screen display. We all love LEDs, and toggling LEDs is always a good example, but let’s assume that we cannot commit to one specific I/O pin that should control our LED, and we rather keep our options open to easily change that later on, maybe even during runtime.

Related languages

By design, C's features cleanly reflect the capabilities of the targeted CPUs. Both Unix and C were created at AT&T's Bell Laboratories in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many universities and organizations began creating their own variants of the language for their own projects.

Several separate standard headers (for example, stdio.h) specify the interfaces for these and other standard library facilities. Functions may be written by the programmer or provided by existing libraries. Interfaces for the latter are usually declared by including header files—with the #include preprocessing directive—and the library objects are linked into the final executable image. Certain library functions, such as printf, are defined by the C standard; these are referred to as the standard library functions.

Syntax

Whether it references a local variable on the stack, or a register mapped into RAM, in the end, it’s all just data behind an address. And by that logic, if we can do something like some_function(®ular_variable) in C, i.e. pass a pointer as parameter to a function, we should be able to do the same with registers. On a system with a memory management unit, such as your average desktop computer, you will most certainly end up with a segmentation fault in the last line. The compiler complained because we wrote an integer into a variable that should be a pointer to an integer, and we should have listened. The C standard defines return values 0 and EXIT_SUCCESS as indicating success and EXIT_FAILURE as indicating failure. Other return values have implementation-defined meanings; for example, under Linux a program killed by a signal yields a return code of the numerical value of the signal plus 128.

Some of those words were added as keywords with their conventional spelling in C23 and the corresponding macros were removed. Many of these had already been implemented as extensions in several C compilers. There are several standard library functions for operating with string data (not necessarily constant) organized as array of char using this null-terminated format; see below. If signed or unsigned is not specified explicitly, in most circumstances, signed is assumed. However, for historic reasons, plain char is a type distinct from both signed char and unsigned char. It may be a signed type or an unsigned type, depending on the compiler and the character set (C guarantees that members of the C basic character set have positive values).

The internet and libraries are full of tutorials and books telling about pointers, and you can randomly pick pretty much any one of them and you’ll be good to go. However, while the basic principles of pointers are rather simple in theory, it can be challenging to fully wrap your head around their purpose and exploit their true potential. An aspect of the C standard (not unique to C) is that the behavior of certain code is said to be "undefined". In practice, this means that the program produced from this code can do anything, from working as the programmer intended, to crashing every time it is run. In the while and do statements, the sub-statement is executed repeatedly so long as the value of the expression remains non-zero (equivalent to true).

C identifiers are case sensitive (e.g., foo, FOO, and Foo are the names of different objects). Some linkers may map external identifiers to a single case, although this is uncommon in most modern linkers. The main function will usually call other functions to help it perform its job.

It is meant for easy comprehension by programmers, but not as a definition for compiler writers—that role properly belongs to the standard itself. In addition, the C99 standard requires support for identifiers using Unicode in the form of escaped characters (e.g. \u0040 or \U0001f431) and suggests support for raw Unicode names. In 1978, Brian Kernighan and Dennis Ritchie published the first edition of The C Programming Language.[17] Known as K&R from the initials of its authors, the book served for many years as an informal specification of the language. As this was released in 1978, it is now also referred to as C78.[18] The second edition of the book[19] covers the later ANSI C standard, described below. While C does not include certain features found in other languages (such as object orientation and garbage collection), these can be implemented or emulated, often through the use of external libraries (e.g., the GLib Object System or the Boehm garbage collector). C-family languages span multiple programming paradigms, conceptual models, and run-time environments.

Except the extreme case with gets(), all the security vulnerabilities can be avoided by introducing auxiliary code to perform memory management, bounds checking, input checking, etc. This is often done in the form of wrappers that make standard library functions safer and easier to use. Pike where the authors commonly use wrappers that print error messages and quit the program if an error occurs.

An else always matches the nearest previous unmatched if; braces may be used to override this when necessary, or for clarity. The opening curly brace indicates the beginning of the definition of the main function.

The return value of the printf function is of type int, but it is silently discarded since it is not used. (A more careful program might test the return value to determine whether or not the printf function succeeded.) The semicolon ; terminates the statement. The most common statement is an expression statement, consisting of an expression to be evaluated, followed by a semicolon; as a side effect of the evaluation, functions may be called and variables may be assigned new values. To modify the normal sequential execution of statements, C provides several control-flow statements identified by reserved keywords.

About the Redfin Estimate Home Value Estimator

house value

The algorithm determines the approximate added value that an additional bedroom or bathroom contributes, though the amount of the change depends on many factors, including location and other home facts. The physical condition of your home is important, as is the size and number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Various parts of your home—the roof, the carpets and the appliances—depreciate the older they are, so to maintain value in your home, it’s important to continue to make updates and improvements. It could be one of the largest purchases you’ll make in your lifetime. For a variety of reasons—for tax purposes, a home equity loan, or retirement planning—you might want to understand how much your home is worth. Here’s how you can try to figure out just how much your home is worth in 2023.

Should I Get An Appraisal Of My House?

The Zestimate® home valuation model is Zillow’s estimate of a home’s market value. The Zestimate incorporates public and user-submitted data, taking into account home facts, location and market conditions. Find out how many homes are for sale, check out asking prices, and see how similar homes compare to yours. With up-to-date information about homes in your neighborhood, you can make informed decisions when it’s time to sell. An appraiser will evaluate your property, inside and out, compare it to nearby homes and their recent sales prices, and give you an official written valuation.

While comps are a great way to get a general sense of your home’s value, you can fine tune this number by consulting a real estate agent. These professionals can visit your property, assess its unique strengths and weaknesses, then present a comparative market analysis (or CMA) estimating your home’s price based on recent real estate sales in your area. Factors like the home’s layout, its structural condition, any improvements made such as renovations or extensions and the overall housing market condition can significantly influence its value. Also, the location, access to amenities, ratings of local schools and demand in your area play massive roles when it comes to determining your home’s worth. Use the Ownerly online portal to try and help you estimate your home’s value.

Ready to sell?

A home value automated valuation model, or AVM, is an algorithmic model that estimates the value of a home based on data from the local market. It assesses a property’s value according to factors such as its size, age, location and the recent selling price of similar properties in the local area. The AVM uses a complex set of algorithms and data-driven forecasting models to give you an estimated market value when you are trying to determine what your home is worth. If your ultimate goal is to sell your property, a Realtor can help determine the value of your home and an accurate sales price. Like other estimates, the Redfin Estimate is not a formal appraisal or substitute for the in-person expertise of a real estate agent or professional appraiser. If you’re thinking about selling your home, or just want to talk more about what it’s worth, we encourage you to contact a Redfin real estate agent at any time.

For example, a Zestimate may be $260,503, while the Estimated Sale Range is $226,638 to $307,394. A wider range generally indicates a more uncertain Zestimate, which might be the result of unique home factors or less data available for the region or that particular home. It’s important to consider the size of the Estimated Sale Range because it offers important context about the Zestimate’s anticipated accuracy. The Zestimate’s accuracy depends on the amount of data we have for the home.

That kind of valuation is helpful if you’re wondering about the value of your home in terms of a future sale or estimating your general net worth. You can also look at the tax valuation of your home, which you might receive in tax communications from your locality or for which you may need to call your local tax office. The tax value of your home, however, may not reflect current market value, depending on how your municipality appraises property. Just like there are numerous external factors driving home values up, the same goes for when your home’s value declines. It could be because there are too many similar homes for sale with far less demand, creating a buyer’s market. Poor economic conditions, rising crime rates or nearby foreclosures also could drive down your home’s value.

In some parts of the country, we may have basic information on some homes — but not enough information about enough homes to compute a Zestimate. Understand your home's value to determine how much equity you can leverage for a cash-out refinance. Stay up to date on market changes and find out how much homes like yours have sold in the past year.

There are three main types of home valuation, and all might assign slightly different dollar amounts to the same house. For example, the same home may have an assessed value of $300K, an appraised value of $395K and a fair market value of $400K. We refresh Zestimates for all homes daily, but on rare occasions this schedule is interrupted by algorithmic changes or new analytical features. This allows you to see how a home (or an area) has changed in value over time.

This column indicates the number of homes in an area that have Zestimates. To calculate the Redfin Estimate, we combine hundreds of data points about the market, the neighborhood, and the home itself—all to provide you with the most accurate home-valuation tools. The UK housing market recovery is threatened by investors scaling back bets on how far the Bank of England will cut interest rates, according to a new report. New valuations are based on recent “fair arms-length” sales, or sales of similar house types in the area, according to the PVA office. Fees for an appraisal usually range between $300 to $500, but remember to do your due diligence when hiring an appraiser.

The Zestimate should not be used as the basis of any specific financial transaction because data sources may be incomplete or incorrect. The Zestimate is a starting point and does not consider all the market intricacies that can determine the actual price a home will sell for. Check that your tax history and price history (the sale price and date you bought your home) are accurate on Zillow. To ensure the most accurate Zestimate, report all home updates to your local tax assessor.

Other factors include the sale prices of the homes around you (called comparables) and whether you’re in a good school district. “Your home should appreciate in value at the rate that the general economy is appreciating at,” Ailion said. There are no guarantees that you’ll sell for the amount you see, but the results can give you a solid ballpark idea of your home’s approximate value. An online home valuation tool such as this one (sometimes called an automated valuation model, or AVM) is a useful starting point for figuring out how much your house is worth. These tools use computer algorithms to analyze publicly available data and come up with an approximate value for your property. Many factors can affect your home's value, including buyer demand and prices of neighboring homes.

Your home is a huge part of your portfolio and knowing how much it’s worth is just good operating procedure. You can do this via a realtor, tax assessor or appraiser, and whom you ask will depend on your purpose for asking. But your home’s value can—and probably will—change over time, so this is a number you should check regularly, especially given the uncertainty of 2023’s housing market.

The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administration is tasked with assessing the “fair-market” value, or the price your home would fetch on the open market, of properties. Whether you're determining how much house you can afford, estimating your monthly payment with our mortgage calculator or looking for preapproval for a mortgage, we can help you at any part of the home buying process. Unreported additions, updates and remodels aren’t reflected in the Zestimate. Real estate professionals can also help their clients claim their home on Zillow, update the home facts and account for any work they have done on the property. A home’s Zillow listing is often the first impression for prospective buyers, and accurate information helps attract interest. Most understand that the Zestimate is an estimate of the value of a home, and that it should be used as a starting point. When combined with the guidance of real estate professionals, the Zestimate can help consumers make more informed financial decisions about their homes. We can only calculate Zestimates for homes and regions where we have certain data, including historical transactions.

The Zestimate also incorporates a home’s facts and features, which homeowners have the ability to update. The more comps you check, the more accurately you can pinpoint your own home’s price. One great place to start is to type your address into the Realtor.com home value calculator, which will estimate your property’s sales price based on an algorithm that factors in similar properties in your area. Figuring out how much your home is worth is important if you hope to get a good price when you sell. Colleen Younger, Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator, encouraged homeowners to appeal if they don’t believe the PVA’s calculations fairly represent their home’s value. Homes from Butchertown to Jeffersontown are set to see changes in their home’s assessed value — and later, their property tax bill — thanks to this year’s round of reassessments. Selling your home as is could be easy, but you also might make less money. Here is a guide to help you establish a baseline for what your house is worth. Your search results could include up to 30 years of sale and mortgage data for some addresses.

Should I Get An Appraisal Of My House?

An inaccurate appraisal could mean making important financial decisions concerning your home’s future using bad information. Make a mortgage payment, get info on your escrow, submit an insurance claim, request a payoff quote or sign in to your account. For example, knowing about how much your home has appreciated in value can help you determine how much equity you’ve built or whether you’re being overcharged for property taxes. It’s a question every homeowner wants to know the answer to, especially if you’re thinking about selling. However, if the updates are not significant enough to affect the home’s value, your Zestimate may not change.

Is a home valuation tool that uses an automated valuation model the same as an appraisal?

While we strive to provide a wide range of offers, Bankrate does not include information about every financial or credit product or service. One useful tool to help with home valuation is to see what companies are willing to pay for your home, which can be done at the Seller’s Marketplace. At that point, you can decide whether or not to inquire further with these companies, or just use the information provided to get a better sense of how much your home is worth.

The appraisal report also can be used to identify home improvements and repairs that will increase its value, which is helpful if you do want to sell eventually. For homes that are for sale, the agent listing the property can remove the Redfin Estimate at any time by deselecting the "Allow Automated Valuations" option within the Multiple Listing Service in which the home appears. This will prevent automated valuations from showing on all third-party real estate sites. The Zestimate is designed to be a neutral estimate of the fair market value of a home, based on publicly available and user-submitted data. We recommend that real estate agents and other professionals gain a basic understanding of how the Zestimate is calculated and how to read the Zestimate data accuracy table. This will help them explain to their clients why the Zestimate is a good starting point and historical reference, but should not be used for the final pricing of a home.

Lending professionals and institutions are prohibited from using other services when making any loan-related decisions. The Zestimate is intended to provide an estimate of the price that a home would fetch if sold for its full value, where the sale isn’t for partial ownership of the property or between family members. Our extensive analysis of foreclosure resale transactions supports the conclusion that these sales are generally made at substantial discounts compared to non-foreclosure sales. For this reason, the Zestimate does not incorporate data about these sales. The Zestimate is based on a complex and proprietary algorithm that incorporates millions of data points.

Nearly 6,900 commercial parcels were also reassessed, including business corridors in Nulu, the Highlands, and St. Matthews and along Frankfort Avenue, South Hurstbourne Parkway, and Taylorsville, Bardstown, and Brownsboro roads. The nationwide median error rate for the Zestimate for on-market homes is 1.9%, while the Zestimate for off-market homes has a median error rate of 7.5%. This means that the Zestimates for half of all on-market homes are within 2% of the selling price, and half are not. For most major markets, the Zestimate for on-market homes is within 10% of the final sale price more than 95% of the time. If you are planning a visit to SFMOMA to see a specific work of art, we suggest you contact us at to confirm it will be on view. 2x4 (founded 1994) is a New York-based multidisciplinary design studio producing work for art, architecture, fashion, and cultural clientele. Founded by Michael Rock, Susan Sellers, and Georgianna Stout, 2x4's creative process utilizes a systematic design strategy that continually draws on research and critical thinking. Their work covers various media such as print, Web, motion graphics, and environmental design.

I just clamped a piece of scrap metal to my workbench and referenced the end of every board against it for a particular length while cutting with my miter saw. We started by measuring the height, width and depth of the space. We left about an inch of wiggle room at the top and at one side to make it easier to pull the shelves out in one giant piece. My wife, Abby, and I decided one way to fix this would be to build some custom shelves in the back of the main area. The ceiling there drops down a level underneath a sunken living room and some vents.

But there’s no guarantee that they will fit well in your space. Consider this project if you want custom shelving that maximizes storage space in exchange for a potentially higher cost and time spent building. Bare minimum, I think you need a circular saw or jigsaw with straight edge, the Kreg pocket hole setup and a drill. We spent about $100 on 31 2x4s, $100 on five sheets of plywood, and $10 on pocket hole screws, for a total of about $210.

Just like we did for our Pallets Aplenty and Plywood Pretty theme weeks, we’re starting this week off with a CHALLENGE — what can you build from structural lumber? We gathered a great group of bloggers to get the week started, and we want to see YOUR projects at the link party below, too.

Fill the holes with wood putty and then let it dry out for a few hours. Apply a few coats of paint over the exterior of the planter to protect them from the weather elements (in case you don’t you cedar or redwood). Read the labels with attention and choose a product that is food safe. Finally, we dropped the plywood pieces in place and screwed them down with 1” drywall screws. There are tons of boards to cut here, so a length stop is invaluable.

Place a 7/16″ piece between the slats and align them at both ends. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws to lock them into place tightly. Some big, steel, industrial shelving units can found for cheaper than what we spent here.

Use a circular saw to make parallel cuts and then remove the excess with a chisel. First, we used a circular saw, straight-edge jig and plywood scrap cutting pads to cut the rectangles. The inside faces use half chunks because the adjacent pieces each share 2x4 columns. I cut those notches with the circular saw for speed, though a jigsaw would be more precise. I started by clearing off a space on my large, flat workbench. A floor works just as well if that’s all that’s available.

We can perform a two-way ANOVA to formally test whether or not the independent variables have a statistically significant relationship with the dependent variable. In this type of design, one independent variable has two levels and the other independent variable has four levels. Cut two 2×4’s to 1′ 11 1/8″ long, cut a 15-degree angle cut on one end (E). Cut two 2×4’s to 1′ 7 1/16″ long, cut 15-degree angle cut on both end in the same direction (C). Cut two 2×4’s to 1′ 6 1/2″ long, rip the 2×4 to 1 1/2″, cut a 15-degree angle cut on one end (B).

For practical purposes, I decided to make the first two units the same, round width, then build custom-size shelf supports for the remaining space. About a year ago, I custom built a set of giant shelves out of 2x4s, plywood and heavy-duty pocket-hole screws for half of that space. But I hadn’t found time to build another set of shelves for the other half of the space — until recently. Abby and I had some vacation time to burn, so we teamed up and tackled the rest of the project. Using pocket hole screws makes this shelf build pretty easy. These fasteners are easy to use and help automatically keep everything square, which can be a challenge for new DIYers. Next, I had to figure out the width of each shelf unit. I divided the width of the entire space by three shelving units. This gave me a number that felt right for balancing open space against structural integrity, but I could have added or subtracted here if the width was too wide or too thin.

Each shelving section gets its own rectangular shelf surface with notches in the corners for the 2x4 columns. It’s a good idea to double check the measurements of these spaces front-to-back and side-to-side in case any them are out of square. I have a Master of Science degree in Applied Statistics and I’ve worked on machine learning algorithms for professional businesses in both healthcare and retail. I’m passionate about statistics, machine learning, and data visualization and I created Statology to be a resource for both students and teachers alike. My goal with this site is to help you learn statistics through using simple terms, plenty of real-world examples, and helpful illustrations.

It's the class of ships where Royal Caribbean made the most effort to appeal to solo travelers. That said, Freedom of the Seas still has a huge amount to offer for all sorts of travelers, from couples to families with kids. The ship was, notably, the first in the Royal Caribbean fleet to feature a FlowRider surfing simulator on its top deck — now a signature attraction for the line. For would-be Royal Caribbean cruisers, Freedom of the Seas serves as a sort of "test the line" ship.

This is your chance to get to the heart of the most exciting destinations of the world. In general, Royal Caribbean's big, resort-like Icon Class, Oasis Class and Quantum Class ships will be more expensive than the line's older, smaller vessels (Icon Class ships are particularly pricey). However, there are a lot of factors that go into pricing for any given cruise, including the popularity of the specific itinerary, the time of year when the cruise is taking place and changing demand trends. The line's ships are designed to provide a little something for everyone, and they appeal to a wide demographic, including couples of all ages and even solo travelers (the line has added solo cabins to more ships in recent years). Royal Caribbean ships offer an inordinate amount of teen- and tween-friendly attractions — everything from some of the largest waterslides at sea to bumper car pavilions.

Easily view, edit and update your travel details for your upcoming cruise. You will also be able to view your cruise itinerary, remaining balance, and submit payments. Reserve online before you cruise and enjoy the first day of your vacation.

Therefore, if you purchase a shore excursion for $200 and later see the price has dropped to $150, you can cancel and rebook the excursion with no penalty. Once you find a cruise add-on you’d like to purchase, click the “Reserve” button. You’ll be prompted to select the guest, date, and time for each purchase. Purchasing credits via the Cruise Planner can save money compared to the price onboard. For example, $25 of arcade credit can be purchased for $20, $50 of credit for $40, and $100 of credit for $80.

In mid-February RCG established a USD 40 million fund for USA-based qualifying travel agencies. The program allows 3-year, interest-free loans (max US$250,000) via CruisingPower.com. On June 15th, RCG signed with Eagle LNG Partners LLC (Eagle LNG) a contract for providing LNG (liquefied natural gas) and bunkering services to LNG-powered RCI liners, the first of which is Icon OTS. The gas supply is sourced from Eagle LNG's facilities in JAXPORT-Jacksonville Florida, shipped throughout the Caribbean and bunkered by Eagle LNG-owned newbuild vessels. On August 25th, RCI announced the exclusive partnership with Inter Miami CF (2018-established soccer club) to become its Official Vacation Partner.

For the most part, Royal Caribbean operates big, bustling megaships that will appeal to people who like a megaresort experience. In other words, if you're the kind of person who loves staying on property at Disney World or at a giant Las Vegas resort, this is the line for you. Royal Caribbean ships offer vacationers a ton of options, whether it be for dining (some vessels have more than 20 distinct places to grab a bite) or entertainment. In recent years, Royal Caribbean has deployed one or more ships to China for sailings aimed at the Chinese market. One of the line's newest ships, Spectrum of the Seas, has offered trips for Chinese travelers out of Shanghai and Tianjin, China (the port for Beijing). The outlier among the six ships mentioned above is Icon of the Seas, which isn't an Oasis Class ship but the first of an all-new series of even bigger vessels called the Icon Class.

Reserve your table at any of our specialty restaurants, from our signature steakhouse Chops Grille to the imaginative curiosities of Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine. Caps, tank tops and bathing suits are never allowed in the main dining room or specialty restaurants; shorts are not permitted during dinner and footwear is always required.

You'll have your pick of 86 dive sites at Bonaire National Marine Park with more than 350 recorded fish species known to frequent the waters. Whether you're looking for a weekend getaway, a family-friendly vacation or an extended voyage, you'll find cruises out of Port Canaveral, Florida that tick all your boxes. It’s tempting to “wait it out” before purchasing cruise add-ons like drink packages and shore excursions. No one wants to pay more than necessary, but waiting to book add-ons on the Cruise Planner will, more often than not, end up costing you more money than booking right away.

We even found out just how wow-worthy Royal Caribbean’s Wow deals are. The main pool areas are a magnet onboard any Royal Caribbean ship, as is the peaceful adults-only Solarium. Cruisers line up for the most adrenaline-pumping activities, whether to surf Royal Caribbean's FlowRider or try out new experiences from simulated skydiving and ice skating to bumper cars and escape rooms. A good travel agent will quiz you about your particular interests, travel style and preferences and steer you to the perfect cruise line, ship, itinerary and cabin for you. An agent also can help you if something goes wrong before, during or after your voyage.
